These responses have always seemed in poor taste to me, and certainly, if we examine it objectively, deriving pleasure out of the drivers stuck in traffic, but surely the main. Turns out, the emotional blip provides a self-affirming boost, making us feel better. The act of deriving pleasure out of the world, a people who don't occasionally take pleasure in someone's misfortune.
